You can book online or call us at (518) 409-6993.
If you book online, please make sure you also call us to make sure we are all set for your appointment – this means you have your forms and will fill them out prior to your appointment, and you have given us your insurance info so we can check it.. It takes 2-5 days to get your insurance info checked.
When you come in for your first appointment you will take off your shoes, head upstairs and grab a pair of comfy slippers from the baskets at the top of the stairwell by the chairs. Please wait by the chairs for your acupuncturist – but if you need to use the restroom it’s at the end of the hallway. If your acupuncturist is with a patient, she will be with you as soon as she can.
When your acupuncturist comes to get you, she will ask you if you want to use the restroom before we begin, and then take you to your room. Each room has a chair to sit in and there is a hook on the door to hang your coat on. At the beginning of your treatment your acupuncturist will greet you and ask questions about your case to determine what needs to be done to get you better. Your acupuncturist may check your tongue and pulse and may gently palpate an area you are having pain in. You will get on the massage table and they will put the acupuncture needles in for your treatment. They will check in after the first one to make sure you are ok to move forward (most people are expecting it to be painful and are surprised that its easy).
Please wear comfortable, loose clothing. If you are a female, a tank top or sports bra is ideal if you want your back worked on, plus yoga pants/shorts/underwear. For men, a pair of shorts or sweatpants is ideal. If you identify with neither, wear whatever makes you comfy. We recommend wearing shorts if you tend to run hot, as we keep the space warm. If you are sensitive to heat, please let us know so we can adjust this. We want you to be comfortable.
We will have quiet, relaxing music playing, so if you are very sensitive to sound and this will bother you, let us know so we can turn it off.
Our treatment rooms are on the second floor, so you will need to be comfortable with stairs. We have the front steps to the house (with a center railing) and the stairway when you enter, which also has a side railing for support. If you struggle with stairs but still want to try to come, we encourage you to bring a family member or friend to assist you. You can also have a family member or friend who knows you stop by and take a look at the stairs to see if it’s something doable for you.
We will have a health intake form for you to fill out prior to the appointment. You can fill out this form ahead of time by scheduling an appointment, and then, when you get the email confirmation, click the button in your email that says, “manage my appointments”. From there it takes you to a screen with your appointment info. On the bottom right of that screen is a button that says, “Complete forms”. Click on that to fill out you intake forms ahead of time. If you don’t have a computer, you can pick up the forms ahead of time or come in 15-20 minutes early in order to fill out your forms. Please be sure to fill out your list of diseases, surgeries and your medication list. There is alot to fill out – but this helps us put together the best holistic plan of care.
We look forward to seeing you!
