Acupuncture Nirvana’s herbal pharmacy provides a small number of traditional Chinese medicine herbal formulas as well as raw medicinal teas from Western, Ayurveda, European and Chinese traditions. We take the health and safety of our patients very seriously, so all our medicines are purchased from growers and manufacturers that provide the highest quality herb.
If we are treating you in an acupuncture treatment and it is really apparent to us what herbal formula could help you, we will offer that suggestion for free.
But more often it’s an investigation. So for more in-depth consultations, where we take a look at your case history and make more in depth suggestions (I spend 1-3 hours doing research and putting together formulas on these cases), we currently offer appointments for a rate of $35 (this does not include the herbs). We limit these appointments to 2 a week because of the time it takes to research each case. However, you will only need a re-evaluation every 3 – 6 months. About Our Raw Medicinal Tea Apothecary
We carry teas from different traditions. These can be purchased individually if you make a request ahead of pick up time (send an email to acunirvana@outlook.com). But more often we make tea formulas for patients to help with different ailments. We are also happy to provide your doctor with a list of what each herb does and the contraindications for taking it before we make your formula. We also offer herbal consultations where we put together a raw medicinal tea formula tailored just for you (click on the above button to sign up for this). Most of our teas are organic, wildcrafted or premium (without pesticides or sulfates).

About Chinese Herbal Medicine and Our Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine Formulas:
Over the past 5,000 years, Chinese herbs have been used in tandem with acupuncture to treat a wide variety of medical conditions. Each herb is classified according to its energetic qualities and functions, and the different organs, meridians, and disharmonies it addresses. Part of what is valuable about using a trained practitioner as that we know and can purchase for you the brands that have been triple tested – they get tested in china, tested once they arrive to the US, and spot tested before they go to a retailer to be sold to acupuncturists and herbalists. This means we are sure they have what they are supposed to have in it.
Herbal formulas can be ingested in a number of ways, from raw herbs that are boiled like teas, to ground herbs placed in capsules or given in the form of pills or powders. Some, however, are used topically in creams or oils, and some can be diffused (like essential oils).
Chinese herbal medicine can be used to expedite the healing process, and to strengthen, support, or tonify the body. These formulas have the capacity to address the underlying root cause of various medical conditions, both acute and chronic. Chinese herbal medicine is a safe, effective and drug-free way to become well and stay healthy naturally.
